What the job is

You run solo over the road on dry van freight, out of our Lemont, Illinois terminal, across all 48 states. Most of what we haul is drop and hook, so your day is driving rather than waiting on a dock.

The number that matters on a solo job is not the cents per mile on the advert — it is the miles behind it. We run 3,500 or more weekly, which is what makes the rate worth having. A high CPM on 2,200 miles pays less than a modest one on steady freight, and any recruiter who avoids that question is telling you something.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A
  • Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR experience
  • Clean MVR preferred
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen

What comes with it

An assigned late-model automatic tractor, a dispatcher who knows your name, weekly direct deposit, safety and fuel bonuses, and both rider and pet programs. Home time is planned around your schedule rather than a fixed rotation.

Thinking about teaming instead?

Team drivers run 6,000+ miles a week at 82 to 90 CPM per driver. Compare the team position.

Questions

Solo driving FAQ

How many miles do solo drivers get each week?

Solo drivers run 3,500 or more miles a week. That is the working average once you are past your first couple of weeks, not a ceiling used for advertising.

Do I get my own truck?

Yes. You are assigned a tractor and it stays yours. We do not slip-seat drivers between runs.

Is the freight no touch?

Yes. We run dry van, drop and hook. You are not unloading pallets or working a lumper.

How much OTR experience do I need?

Two years of verifiable over-the-road experience. That is the one requirement we do not move on, because insurance and freight commitments depend on it.

How does home time work for solo drivers?

Home time is flexible and planned with your dispatcher. Tell us the schedule you need and we build lanes around it rather than handing you a fixed rotation.

Trucks are sitting. Drivers are not.

If you have two years of OTR experience, we can usually get you an answer the same day you call.
