Questions for any carrier
Cents per mile on its own tells you very little. Before accepting any offer — ours included — get answers to these:
- What are the realistic weekly miles, not the ceiling?
- Are miles paid practical or short?
- What accessorial pay exists — detention, layover, stop pay?
- Is the position W-2 or 1099?
- What is deducted before it reaches your account?
A recruiter who answers those plainly is worth more than one advertising a bigger number. More on comparing pay offers.
Questions
Pay FAQ
How often do drivers get paid?
Weekly, by direct deposit. The settlement lands the same day each week.
Is orientation paid?
Yes. Orientation runs at our Lemont, Illinois terminal and you are paid from day one.
What bonuses are available?
Safety bonuses, fuel bonuses, and a 1,000 dollar referral bonus for every experienced driver you send who gets seated.
Can I bring a rider or a pet?
Yes to both. We run a rider program and we are pet friendly. Ask a recruiter for the current policy details.
Is the position W-2 or 1099?
Employment terms and the full pay structure are covered on your call with a recruiter. Ask directly — it is a fair question and it changes your take-home, so you should have the answer before orientation.
Trucks are sitting. Drivers are not.
If you have two years of OTR experience, we can usually get you an answer the same day you call.
